These young adult theatre classes for participants aged 17 and older are designed to foster creativity in a supportive group setting.
Whether new to acting or enhancing existing skills, participants engage in exercises that build confidence and ignite imagination. The classes focus on space, voice, and movement through playful games and activities.
Led by Barbara, who studied acting and theatre pedagogy in Berlin, sessions cover acting basics from various schools and include creative writing for storytelling. Participants will also explore spoken word for unique self-expression, focusing on personal growth and fun.
Barbara’s experience includes working with diverse groups, from people with disabilities to children in a circus program. She emphasises the creative process, group dynamics, and social learning rather than the end performance.
Having lived in Mahana for four years, Barbara also works with pregnant women and young families. Her passion for theatre and circus fuels her commitment to nurturing creativity in young adults.
Please note that these 3 sessions build on each other and we are asking for a commitment to all 3 dates.
The first two sessions will take place in the hall, the third in the meeting room.
Limited to 15 participants. $55 per participant for all sessions together. Bookings are essential and close Wednesday, 19th February at 2pm. Book Now
