Macramé is a very old decorative knotting craft that anyone can do with a bit of practice! It can be done with virtually any kind of rope, including wool, linen, cotton and leather. We will use a cotton cord.
In this beginners' workshop, Faline will focus on simple hanging baskets, introducing you to some basic materials and techniques while creating a beautiful piece of knotted art to take home. Once you understand how to make the knots, you can create your own designs and create many more creatively knotted things at home.
Please bring your own plant pot to create a macramé hanging basket for. Alternatively, you could just come along to learn the basic technique and make something at home in your own time.
Limited to 10 kids (8 years +). Registrations essential.
This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja at education@riverside.org.nz to discuss sponsorship options if you are struggling to meet the workshop fee or to enquire about more info.
