HypnoBirthing is as much a philosophy as it is a technique. It prepares a birthing couple physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually – for an easier, more comfortable and, sometimes, pain free birth. HypnoBirthing is a rewarding, relaxing and stress free method of birthing that is based on the belief that all babies should come into this world gently, in an atmosphere of calm and joy. Through a well thought out program of deep relaxation, self hypnosis, special breathing techniques, visualizations, affirmations, and education HypnoBirthing returns to a woman the art of birthing in a way that allows her to summon her natural birthing instincts and to birth her baby safely and with ease.
When to start: The best time to start your HypnoBirthing course is between 20 and 35 weeks of pregnancy. However many women have begun earlier than this, or very late in pregnancy, and found the training invaluable. Doing the course at any stage is better than not at all. Course length and times: Each course runs for 5 weeks. With a weekly session of 2.5 hours.
Course price: Group sessions are $450 per couple for the five-week training, including the HypnoBirthing book, the audio practice download card, resource folder and of course all the skills you will need to have a calm, peaceful birth.
Who are your Tutors: Joana Schaaf and Barbara Knewitz we are both registered as certified HypnoBirthing practitioners with the HypnoBirthing Institute.

About us:
Hello, I am Barbara.
I live with my partner and our two children in the beautiful Mahana Hills, near Upper Moutere.
I found my way to HypnoBirthing in 2018 when I was pregnant with my first child. I became aware that giving birth evoked uncomfortable associations and fears and decided to look for gentle ways to give birth. Through HypnoBirthing, I had two wonderful birthing experiences - intense but in tune and connected with my baby and my body.
I am inspired and passionate about empowering women and their birth companions to experience a peaceful birth, full of trust, no matter what path you choose and what circumstances you encounter.
Hello, my name is Joana.
I live with my husband and our three children in the beautiful Marahau Valley.
We live a life connected to nature and the seasons.
From an early age I have felt a strong desire to change something in the way we birth today.
This desire stemmed from the sadness and guilt I knew my mother felt, about the way my own birth went.
Despite this I knew it was possible to have natural, connected and peaceful births – full of trust and confidence in our body and our baby.
So in my first pregnancy I immersed myself in positive birth preparation practices. We had a long but beautiful home-birth.
HypnoBirthing truly transformed our second and third birth into wonderful, empowering and joyful experiences. Not just for myself, but for my children and my husband as well. I am very thankful for the profound help that HypnoBirthing offered our family! And feel passionate and exited to share this with women and their birth companions in our courses.
