Join Riverside Education for an exciting fresh cheese making workshop, utilising the raw milk from our own cows. While we typically focus on hard cheese, this time we’re offering something unique.

Our expert instructors, Verena and Tanja, bring decades of cheese-making experience and a passion for no-fuss culinary techniques. In this 2-hour session held in our commercial kitchen, they will demonstrate the ease and joy of making naturally fermented cheese from raw milk at home.

This workshop is ideal for those looking to explore the artisanal side of dairy and save money while providing healthy food for their families. Participants will get hands-on experience making and tasting yoghurt, quark, and feta, along with fresh dips, quark-based desserts, and a classic European baked cheesecake.

Expect a fun, delicious, and slightly messy session. Bring a friend, go easy on meals beforehand, and prepare to be inspired!

Limited to 12 participants.  Bookings close Thursday, 29th August at 2pm. Book Now

This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for workshop questions or to ask about sponsorship options.

Please note that we will be using Riverside Milk which is RAW milk and may not be suitable for everyone's consumption. The Ministry of Primary Industries advises the following: ‘Raw milk may contain microorganisms that can causeserious illness. To reduce the risk of illness, raw milk should be heated to at least 70 degree Celsius for one minute. This is critical for infants, young children, the elderly, pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems.’
