Following the success of her children's workshops at Riverside in October, Barbara Knewitz from Dreamspace Theatre is now inviting adults to "come and play" in two engaging Creative Writing & Spoken Word sessions scheduled for 16th November (1pm to 2.45pm) and 23rd November (1pm to 3.15pm).
Barbara describes these sessions as an opportunity to "use small sensory stimuli to find 'word building blocks' and work together to create snippets of text, text fragments and perhaps longer texts, scenes or even poetry." Participants will creatively explore combining and deconstructing these fragments, and they might even witness an unexpected masterpiece. The focus is on transforming text into spoken word, though no theatrical skills are needed, just the courage to experiment. It's a supportive environment where sharing is optional.
Barbara brings a rich background in acting and theatre pedagogy from Berlin. She has spearheaded numerous projects involving people diverse backgrounds. Her enthusiasm for group creativity is infectious, highlighting the importance of process and collaboration over performance. The workshops promise to enhance creativity, social learning, and, most importantly, provide an enjoyable experience for all involved.
Please note that these two sessions build on each other and we are asking for a commitment to both dates.
