Give your children a chance to "clown around" in a fun-filled workshop led by Barbara Knewitz.

Kids will enjoy engaging games, practice clown acts, apply face paint, and perform a small show for parents at the end of the session.

This lively event encourages laughter, imagination, and possibly discovering their clown persona, all in a supportive environment with exciting challenges. Children are encouraged to dress in colorful clothes, and clown costumes are welcome if available!

Barbara Knewitz, an experienced acting and theatre pedagogy specialist, studied in Berlin and has a rich history of working with people with disabilities, elementary students, and participating in a children's circus program touring Germany. Her approach emphasises group dynamics, creativity, social learning, and, most importantly, fun.

For the past four years, Barbara has lived in Mahana with her partner and two children. She works with pregnant women and their families, teaching antenatal classes and serving as a doula. Her enduring passion for theatre and circus promises a creative and enjoyable experience for your children.

This session will take place in the octagonal meeting room at the Community Centre. If you have some time afterwards, why not bring some snacks and enjoy a bit of free play outside?

Limited to 10 children (5 to 8 years old). Bookings are essential and close Friday, 13th September at 2pm. Book Now

This workshop is proudly sponsored by the Riverside Community Trust. Please contact Tanja (at education@riverside.org.nz) for workshop questions or to ask about sponsorship options.
