Do you want your own supply of honey? Beeswax? Propolis? Better garden pollination? Bee-keeping is the way to go!
Join us for an afternoon among the beehives to learn how honey is produced and extracted and the difference between a worker and a drone. We will also cover the tools and equipment you'll need to get started in bee-keeping.
Lynda Hannah is a herbalist who has been a hobby bee-keeper for 7 years and will share what she's learned. People who don't have their own bee suit will be best to wear full clothes, i.e. light in weight and colour, long sleeves, long trousers tucked into socks, boots, gloves. Some veils will be available. A folding seat or something to sit on would be useful too. Please don't come if you know you are allergic to bee stings!
Sponsorship is available for those who would like to participate but cannot afford it - please ask Tanja
